SWATCH: OPI DS Signature

Exhausted.

Yup that's me, everyday, even during my off.

I don't even have the time to blog anymore. Or to look over my stuff for my lost license.

I really need something to cheer me up. I need to see color on my nails. I've been sporting the nude look for so long and I'm sick of it. I'll do it. Even just for a day.
But what color? I noticed it was really sunny outside. And what's the best polish seen under the sun? Of course! A holo! Perfect for a picker-upper!

I grabbed my untried OPI DS Signature.

This is OPI DS Signature

A pinkish mauve polish with scattered holo.

It's so darn pretty.

My photos didn't even give it justice.

This was taken outside with 2 coats.

It's still pretty even when indoors.

I really can't get enough of it.

Alright, well slight energy been restored, I just need more rest but for my happiness? I'm over the moon. Because today I get to paint my nails =)

Much love,

Camille

SWATCH: Bobbie Weng-Weng Revisited

Good Morning everyone! As promised, I have better shots of Weng Weng to show you! So I'll get straight to it because I'm in a hurry too. =P

Photobucket

This is my most favorite of the bunch! A grayish-blue holo, 2 coats was enough but I got carried away and painted 3! Application was great, drying time was ok. Alright, that's it for me today!

SWATCH: Bobbie Margarita & Mint Daiquiri

Ok, so this is the last 2 of the 7 Bobbie holoprisms collection. I have Margarita and Mint Daiquiri.  I don't want to end the collection with this 2 polishes which is the least that I like the most. So I'm going to re-do Weng-weng since I know I didn't give justice to the pictures that I took before. I'll update that post tomorrow.

So let me show you the lesser evil of this 2.

Bobbie Margarita

A sheer pink with scattered holo, although you need to look closer to see the effect unlike with the other holos in the collection. Took me 3 coats, didn't want to add more. I'm guessing it will take me at least 5 coats to be fully opaque.

Bobbie Mint Daiquiri

A sheer gold holo, but of all the holos, this one has the least effect. I dont like it on my nails either, made it look like I used pure acetone on my nails... as a moisturizer. Application was ok, took me 3 coats for this. Maybe 5 coats to be opaque.

There you have it folks! Bobbie Holoprisms.  I find Weng-Weng, Mojito and Mudslide as the best in this collection. And as for Mint Daiquiri, its the worst of them all. But I haven't tried layering. Maybe that might turn the tables for it. How about you? What do you think about this collection? Planning to buy them all?

NAIL ART: Music and my guitars

Good Morning ladies! I still have Bobbie Mudslide on my nails and I thought of doing nail art since its been 1 week since I made one.

So my inspiration came from Nikki of Ask Me Whats, I used her musical notes, added my guitars in it, and voila! A new design! =)

Here are my guitars:

My Tomato colored acoustic guitar and my Hello Kitty Stratocaster.

So onto the nails:

I was cleaning up my room yesterday and found something that I used back in Highschool. It's my Water Colors!

And who said that nail art can't be cheap? I used my watercolors for my new design. And here it is!

It's very simple since I just wanted to try out if water colors work just as well as acrylic paint or nail polish.

I just needed my fine brushes, one for painting and one for cleaning. I f you had a mistake just dip the cleaner brush in water, wipe excess then gently clean the small area. It's that easy!

Here's my thumb with my Hello Kitty Stratocaster, I know it looks pathetic, I just need more practice drawing Hello Kitty =p

Here's my ring finger with my acoustic guitar.

Pros
- painting with water color is easy
- dries fast but not sticky unlike when your working with polish
- endless possiblities with colors since you can mix it and come up with different ones
- very affordable and accessible

Cons
- dries pretty rough, although it might not be that bothersome to some.
- chips fast even with topcoat, my guitar on my right thumb chipped while I was sleeping.

So that's it. Maybe its good for 1-2 days nail art. But then, it will give you the chance to change it everyday without feeling guilty of wasting a fair amount of nail art supplies. So what do you think?

SWATCH: Bobbie Mudslide

Phew!  5 down, 2 more to go! Today's mani is Bobbie Mudslide. A light brown/ nude holo. It's a very nice, soft kind of holo. I'm digging this look, perfect for the office, school or formal events. Best of all, it took me 2 coats. 2 coats ladies! not 3,4 nor 5! Just 2! Thanks Bobbie!! Its already a 1 coater, but I can still see VNL's peeking through so I added another coat. Application was like butter. Probably one of the best Bobbie's that Ive tried!

 Under direct sunlight.

The holo can be seen much better in low light. Also its a scattered type of holo.

This is indoors, direct sunlight. Much better =)

And for the effect: ( I enjoyed making this part! =p)

I'm thinking of doing nail art again with this mani, hmm.. I need new ideas.

That's it for me today!

SWATCH: Barielle U Concrete Me + Bobbie Vodka Ice

Time for Bobbie Vodka Ice but I heard that its too sheer. I don't want to waste my time by painting 5 coats of polish  so I layered it instead. I used Barielle U Concrete Me as base. But before I show you the layered mani, let me show you Barielle U Concrete Me first.

I also clipped my nails because I was so irritated with it. It felt like I had witch nails.

Barielle U Concrete Me-  A beautiful gray cream that's very easy to apply, although I wasn't really happy with the brush. It was a bit uneven. But that's just the flaw, I'm loving this simple gray cream. This was 2 coats and drying time was good.

Now I'll be showing you the layered mani.

Bobbie Vodka Ice- a sheer silver holo. The holo effect is scattered so I'm not that impressed. I like linear ones. This was 2 coats, formula and brush was ok.

You won't see it that much if the picture's taken with flash.

Overcast. The effect is still barely noticeable.
I changed the settings of my camera so I can capture the effect. Although it just made my fingers look horrible.

Now I'll show you how the effect sort of looks like =p

Photobucket

I hope it helps.

Oh and I don't dig this look so much. I don't know, maybe my base is too dark for it? Maybe I should've layered  it on silver. Would it work? How about you, what do you think?

SWATCH: Bobbie Purple Passion

Good morning ladies! Beautiful Saturday morning to all of you! Last night I tried on Bobbie Purple Passion. It's a sheer purple holo. (I think its weird that a holo is sheer, its supposed to be pigmented, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.) It took me 4 coats to avoid visible nail lines.  I hate vnl's since I have short nail beds and it makes my fingers look weird. Drying-time was ok, or at least that's what I thought. I woke up this morning and found hair marks all over my nails! I tried to fix it by applying topcoat, it somewhat rescued its texture but the marks can still be seen. And as I'm typing this, my right index finger keeps on slipping in between the keyboard! Dents are all over that darn finger. I'm kind of not happy at how things turned out. Bobbie Purple Passion is not that great of a color and its too sheer. Good points are: Its not runny, not thick, formula is ok. I just would like to request something from Bobbie if someone from that company is reading this. Please, make colors that can be achieved in two coats. Not 3, 4 nor 5! Is it something that's too much to ask? Anyway, enough of my whining, onto the nails.

I was ecstatic over Mojito but not this one.
