NAIL ART: Houndstooth nails, SWATCH: Nicole by OPI "Baby" Blue

Hi lovelies! How's everyone? Ive been meaning to do a konadicure for some time now. Finally got the will to do it! First few tries were a disaster! Its been years since I held the scraper and the stamper! I'm convinced, I need a new and bigger one. And also new plates :P Anyway.

Today, I got tired of my Aztec nails, major part of it was that its sooo messed up. I wanted a cleaner and better nail design. I opted for the houndstooth cause I thought it was pretty neat. Let's get to the nails :)

Oh! Before that  let me show you my base coat:

Nicole by OPI "Baby" Blue from the One Less Lonely Girl Collection

"Baby" Blue - a sky blue cream.

Very pretty right? Application was a breeze, like butter. This is one of my favorite shades of blue. Now to the nail art!

Like it?

I used China Glaze First Mate for stamping.

Base Coat: Seche Clear
Base Color Nicole by OPI "Baby" Blue
Stamp: China Glaze
Top Coat: Seche Vite

That's it for today! Take Care!

NAIL ART: Aztec Nails

Hi there ladies! Wow! Its been a while! I miss everything here. I haven't read any of the blog posts for the past 5 months. A little too long, right? Right now, I'm so behind on any new lines from nail polish brands. I'm not worrying so much since I live far far away from Manila, far from malls and department stores. Although there's one here that carries most of the new polishes from Revlon. But that's it. Oh, and I also got the chance to go to Red Dot Boutique several times. Man, its a gold mine there! Who would have thought that a local boutique could carry so many foreign brands. I even saw that banana powder from Ben Nye. And there's also Urban Decay, NYX, Sephora.. For the polishes, they have Zoya, OPI, Wet n' Wild, Orly.. Its a wonderland out there!!! There's also brushes from Charm, which I so so so love! And that portable vanity with lights! Oh, and I love the clothes!! Sans the high pricetag. But in a province like this, its a freakin gift! I could go on and on about this nifty little store. But, I can do that in another blogpost, with photos. :)

Ok.. So I am so late with my nail thingies. I do really hope I'll get my groove back. Its been months since my nails had color painted on it. I've been seeing tribal/aztec prints like everywhere. And yes, also on nails. I got really inspired and wanted to do my own take on aztec prints. So here, PLEASE, PLEASE, forgive my poor attempt on aztec nails. Its been awhile and I was having a hard time using my nail art brushes. Its not perfect, but it'll be better on my next posts. :)

None of the prints here are the same.

I'd love to do a tutorial on how I did it, but I don't think this creation earns me the right to do it.

It looks good from afar though ;p

Are you still scrolling down???

Random: New Beginnings

Hello my lovelies! I'm so sorry for the long hiatus. Everything in my life was so fast paced in the past few months. From my work in the hospital, to baking cakes in December, vacations, family gatherings and my sudden move to the province of Laoag, Ilocos Norte. Its so beautiful here! Very laid back, but at least I can always have time to reflect and just soak in every single thing that's around me. So as of the moment, I am unemployed and trying to land myself a job in this city.

I so want to do my nails! But I can't because all of my polishes are left in Manila and were still waiting for the truck to haul all our stuff here up north. I miss my oven and all my stuff that I left. The first two weeks we were here, we didn't have cable tv or even an internet connection. Good thing we brought the tv with us when we moved. It kept me sane by giving me all of my downloaded tv series.

I love the new apartment, there's so many things I can do here. It's not that big but I find it comfortable and quite nice. The rent is crazy cheap too. If I find an apartment like this in Manila, it would cost thrice the amount that we pay here. And I won't even get to live with my cats back there. Here, my cats rule the whole apartment.

I did a little exploring here. In the center of the city, there are a few coffee shops and nice clothing stores which I visited during the weekend. I like the La Tabacalera Ilocos Lifestyle Center, its beside the museum. A little place where you can order coffee, read a good book while enjoying the Post-spanish architecture surrounding you. And markets that has fresh produce all the time. There are a lot of quaint little shops here that I have yet to visit. Nail posts might take a little more time, judging by the cargo truck's booking process. I saw Revlon polishes in Robinson's Ilocos Norte, just a few minutes from our place. So I can still buy neat polishes from here. There's also Orly in the Red Dot store. But I still need to visit that place to see for myself.

Anyway, I hope everything's fine with you guys and also Happy Chinese New Year!

Love,
Camille =)

This was taken last year when I visited Ilocos, at the Bangui Windmills. Soo windy! :P

NAIL ART: Broken Swirls

Hi ladies! So this is just a continuation of the post from below, Again, this will be really quick. I used China Glaze First Mate for the base and China Glaze 2030 for stamping. I also used the Big plate B for the design. Topped it all off with Seche Vite.

I named it broken swirls because if you take a closer look, the swirls really broken. It's that literal. =P (I'm being a bit cranky, idk why. Maybe coz I screwed this one up.)

Alright, so I'll just leave you with more photos, need to get going. Thanks for reading!

SWATCH: China Glaze First Mate

Hi Ladies! Happy Weekend! Well, this will be really quick, I'm getting ready for a wedding (not mine) and I haven't started anything yet. Anyway, before I lose my mind over dresses, shoes and makeup, I'd like to show you something from China Glaze's Anchors Away Collection. Yes, I'm so late for this but hard times are in and budget cuts are inevitable. Enough ranting, here it is.

China Glaze First Mate- A navy blue cream, very much pigmented. Application was smooth, not a problem at all. This is 2 coats but you can get away with one.

I like the rich color.

So there you have it, thanks for reading.

NAIL ART: Gradient Nails

Hi lovelies! Finally, I had time to blog. My gosh, the weekend was so packed with activities that I only had barely 2-3 hours of sleep! Whew! Awake for more than 24 hours last Friday then 2-3 hours of sleep during Saturday and Sunday! I was always out so I never had the chance to post anything.

Anyway, I made these nails last Friday morning but I didn't have a chance to take a photo of my newly manicured nails until this morning. So this is 3 days of wear already, enduring a lot of activities hence the tipwear. Please please, bear with my nails, because 1) I was in a dark room when I made it. 2) I dont have my fine cleaning brush with me so I used a bigger brush hence the uneven cuticle lines. But I'm happy with my nails even if its a little bit effed up.

For this gradient, I used Etude House BL501 for the base and Nicole by OPI "Baby" Blue from The One Less Lonely Girl Collectionfor sponging.

It's so nice and easy, will try it again soon!

That's it for today, on my next post it will be much much more presentable than this. Thanks for reading!

SWATCH: NYX Dark Beige

Hi ladies! How's everyone? This will be very quick, I'm a bit of in a hurry today so here's my mani.

I'm wearing NYX Dark Beige
 Pretty?

I love it! It's neat, simple yet elegant.

NYX Dark Beige - well the name already describes the color, this is two coats but can also be done in a single coat. I just suck at applying single coats. I cant even it out! But it can be done. Its equally pretty when done in a single coat. Finished it off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top coat. My first time too! Now I get all the hype! It's literally dry in less than a minute!

What do you guys think?

Thanks for reading.

SWATCH: Models Own Purple Blue and NailMail!

Hi there ladies! How was your week? Hope everything's doin' great! Right now I'm going to show you something from Models Own, Purple Blue! I've been in-love with the collection ever since it launched. For me, it didn't disappoint.

My apologies. My camera wasn't working at its best.

It's a purple and blue duochrome as the name  implies. It was runny at first then a bit goopy but manageable. Took me 3 coats to achieve full coverage.

It's so pretty.

I got this bottle along with Emerald Black and Aqua Violet at the Makeupholics' booth in WTC.
Also, I got something from the mail! Thank you so much Makeupholics for this!

Milani Golden Lilac and Hot Hot Hot
Milani Golden Lilac- a sheer lavender jelly with gold shimmer
Milani Hot Hot Hot - a very bright red orange cream

I love it! Both of them! I'll try them one of these days! Golden Lilac's perfect for toned down manis while Hot Hot Hot's perfect for an eye popping mani! Thanks a lot Makeupholics!

Well that's it for me today, thanks for reading.

SWATCH: Skittles mani of Models Own Beetlejuice, Color Club and Revlon

Hi guys! What a monday!! Its scorching hot! Right now I wish I was in Alaska, or the beach, or some place way cooler than from where I am. Anyway, yesterday I was at the WTC for the Heatwave Summer Bazaar. It was nice, there were lots and lots of makeups, polishes, clothes,etc.. Of course I was always on the lookout for polishes, and look what I found..

Models Own Purple Blue, Aqua Violet and Emerald Black

Ive been looking for these! I found it at the MakeupHOLICS booth. They have a lot to offer! From Barry M makeup, Urban Decay, Wet n Wild, Models Own, Beauty UK, Sephora, to brushes! I wish I had enough moolah to take them all home. But my budget's for the polishes. Too bad the other shades of The Beetlejuice collection weren't available but nothing to fret about, I still have 3 shades that I'm dying to swatch.

A week ago I mentioned about Revlon Naughty, 2 days before buying that, I bought Color Club Wild and Willing. I wasn't that thrilled with the color but layered over black, it had a complete transformation. I swatched all of the polishes on one hand since I was too excited to try them all.

From thumb- MO Purple Blue, Aqua Violet, Emerald Green, Color Club Wild and Willing over black, Revlon Naughty

This was taken indoors.

I wish I had more time too to swatch each shades on all 5 fingers.

Taken with flash

I love them all. The Models own polishes were a bit streaky and sheer, took me 3 coats to even it out, except for Emerald Black. It only took me 2 coats. For Color Club Wild and Willing, took me 2 coats to achieve this look. For Revlon Naughty, just 2 coats too. All without topcoat.

Now for the next part, its Revlon Naughty. The shade is really nice and did it live up to my expectations? Well yes and no. Yes because I love the color, the brush was ok and it took only 2 coats. No because it was a tad on the thick side, the gold shimmer was more visible with a topcoat than when its worn by itself. Overall I'm still very much in-love with it. This will save me from buying Chanel Paradoxal. =P Kidding.

No clean-ups, too much in a hurry. My apologies.

It has a bit of bubbles, not really sure why.

Thanks for reading,

Camille :)
