NAIL ART: My complete Valentine's nail art fail.

Hi ladies!  Happy Monday! Today I went to the post office to claim a parcel from Polishology. It was a giveaway prize that has the ELF Holiday Trio. Thank you Jenny! I really love it!  I can't wait to do a swatch! It took me a week before I could claim the parcel because I always didn't make it before the post office's closing time. Thanks again Jenny!

 Anyway.

Last week I made a nail art that was supposed to be an entry for a contest. It was a massive fail. I decided not to enter any valentines nail art contest anymore. I'm just bad at it. Really bad. Or maybe I'm better off making simpler ones. Well, there's still a few days left. I might make another one which is for the contest. That is if I can come up with something beautiful.

See, I was trying to tell a story. Man its so lame! Cupid's on my thumb, struck an arrow on the heart which is on my middle finger. They kissed on the lips on my ring and fell in love more on my pinky. Just telling the story makes me want to throw up.

My boyfriend can't even pretend and tell me that it was nice.

Awful. Awful. Awful!

NAIL ART: Love is in the air

Hi everyone! How's the weekend? Mine was fun! Yesterday was pancake day for me and my boyfriend, yey! We had tons and after a while got sick of it. But thinking of it makes me want to eat pancakes again! =P

Anyway, the nail art that I'm going to show you isn't pancake related. I got my inspiration from the new Diana Camera.

I'm into lomography too and I have the exact same camera but mine has the original or regular look.

And the nails:

Sorry about the lobster hands, the color was so light and I had a hard time capturing its real color.

This looks better in real life.

It's very simple, it looks really light in the picture but in real life its not. The colors used were just right.

Base: Caress Cool Blue
Clouds: Konad Special Polish
Freehand Hearts- Caronia Simply Red

I think I'm too early for Valentine's. That's it for me today!

SWATCH: Barielle Lava Rock

Hi everyone! Just a quick post, I just want to show you Barielle Lava Rock.

Lava Rock has a deep burgundy base with purple shimmer.

Very vampy and beautiful. My middle finger nail looked so wide coz its a false nail. I accidentally chopped of a part of my nail while slicing carrots. But it didn't hurt, it wasn't close to the skin anyway. I just have a very uneven nail.

My pictures look funny because I swatched in on my right hand, I'm not ambidextrous. Really sorry for that.

My left hand was all effed up. I did a disastrous nail art so before I removed anything I took a photo of this first.

But overall, I like it a lot.

That's it for me today, Have a wonderful Thursday night! =)

RANDOM: How do you store your nail art accessories?

Hi everyone! Do you like nail art accessories like rhinestones, bullion beads, half-pearls, glitters, etc..?  I do! I got very addicted to them and hoarded so much! And one of my problems back then was storage! Some of the decorations were in small plastic sachets which were always at risk of toppling over and getting scattered all over the floor. I'll be showing you some of the ways that these teeny tiny decors can be stored.

Wheels
Wheels are often sold with the Nail art decorations.

I hated this so much! It always, ALWAYS ruins my manicure! You need to turn it endlessly so the open part will be right over the section that you want to use.

Pill box/ Medicine box
This has compartments, comes in different colors and the flaps can be slid off the box itself.

I didn't like it that much, I can't find any box that was just right, (clear, flaps that are easy to open but contents are secured). There were gaps on the cover so glitters will still spill even if closed. So, nope, that won't do.

Pots
A 30-pc pot set, has own plastic case for storage

I love this! I've been using this ever since I hoarded nail decorations. The pots are clear, just right for small things like rhinestones, sequins, pearls, and much more!

There's a cover to let the dust out.

 Here's without the cover

The plastic case helps the pots from rolling off your table or so nothing gets lost when your not using it.

See that cover? That's really easy to remove, there's no chance of a ruined manicure when you use this one!

I have 3 sets of this and a smaller version of it. You can also put buttons, needles or beads if you're into sewing or well, almost anything! Even jewelry!  This is portable too! You can just bring the pot that you need! You don't have to bring all of it with you, unlike with wheels and medicine boxes.

So how about you? How do you store your nail goodies?

Products were not sent to me by the company. These were bought with my own money.

NAIL ART: Cracked Chocolate Eggs

Hi everyone! This will be quick, I just want to show you a very cheap Crackle Polish which I talked about on my last post. It's BK Crackle polish. I chose brown and guess how much per bottle? Php100 or $2.30! Freakin cheap! Although the SA warned me that the cracks last about 2-3 days even with a strong topcoat. It's ok, it means there's more time to experiment with other colors! =)

I used BK Dark Turquiose as base and topped it with one thick coat of BK Brown crackle polish. Sealed it off with 2 coats of Orly Top 2 Bottom. 2 coats coz I wanted to see if it would last for 5 days.

This is the easiest nail art that I've ever done! All you have to do is to paint the crackle on top, sit back and watch the amazing thing that's gonna happen! Although there's one thing that I don't like. Clean up. Once it dries up, it gets powdery and really hard to remove! I use a clean brush for skin clean ups but for this, I used the cuticle pusher then the brush. I had to scrape it because if I used the brush, it will just mess it up more! Good thing it looks good, coz if not, I might have removed all of it from my nails!

Anyway, I also won a giveaway from Rory of VarnishVixen! Yey! Thanks Rory! =)

I'm so excited for these to be on my doorstep!

That's it for me today, Happy Monday! =)

SWATCH: BK Dark Turquoise

Hi ladies! How was the weekend? Mine was okay, I had a nice time with my boyfriend yesterday then spent my day today at home with the family. Yesterday I had the chance to go to Festival Mall, Alabang and visited a nail art kiosk there called NailVille. I would've squealed when I saw the polishes, glitters and nail art stuff but I didn't because there were lots of people walking around and I don't want them to think that I'm such a dork.

Anyway, I wasn't able to take a picture of the kiosk because my camera's battery died on me. That place is a small nail art wonderland! There were so many nail polish, nail art brushes, dotting tools, fake nails, rhinestones, glitters, water decals, hand dryers, you name it! I'll be back there in the future to buy more! =P

Some of the goodies that I got from there:

BNC 391, Nail Up Purple Glitters, BK Dark Turquoise, BK Brown Crackling polish

Water decals (Disney and Swirly Patterns), Assorted Fake Nails

Everything costs Php600 or roughly $13! Really cheap!

 Now, onto the nails!

I got too excited on BK Dark Turquoise that I tried it out the minute I got home! Oh, by the way, those BK polishes don't have any names so I did the liberty of naming it by looking at Wikipedia's list of colors. I think Dark Turquoise best fits the color, right?

BK Dark Turquoise - a cream based Korean polish. Application was smooth, 2 coats to make it even. Drying time was fast.

Can you say yummy? =P

Seriously, I am in love!

The first time I saw it, I knew that this was calling my name!

It's my most favorite shade of blue at the moment! How about you? Dig this color? Do you have any suggestion when it comes to naming this beautiful color?

Well, that's it for me today!
 Goodnight!

Camille

Nailville is located at Lower Ground Floor (in front of broadwaygems) Festival Mall, Alabang Muntinlupa.

RANDOM: I got tagged again! =)

Hi guys! I was tagged by the wonderful Rachel Dianne of  J'adoreLacquer.Thank you so much! I'm really touched!

1. Thank and link back to the giver of the award.

2. Sum up your blogging philosophy, motivation, and experience using 5 words:
I breathe Nail polish, nail art, writing and pictures.
3. Pass it on to other bloggers that you feel have substance in their blogs.

The rules are: copy the picture, answer the questions and send it to your favorite blogs!

1. Why did you make this blog?
Because of my love for polish and nail art. I posted my blogs on Multiply way back but nobody gets me there. But here, everyone knows, owns and loves polish!

2. What kind of blogs do you read?
Mostly polish blogs. A bit of travel, lomography, cats and personal blogs.

3. Do you have a favorite make-up brand?
Make-up? Sadly, there's none. I'm not into make up.. yet. But I'm happy with The Faceshop, ELF. I would love to try out Etude House and Elianto. But if its a nail polish brand - Orly, OPI, China Glaze, Etude House and Elianto

4. What about the favorite clothing brand?
Hmm.. I like clothes from Forever21, although I dont splurge that much on clothes. I buy from bazaars (since most clothes there are pretty nice and very much affordable) I haven't bought much because I got depressed when I gained a lot of weight and I had a hard time looking for clothes, even fitting them.. Gaah! It was a nightmare. There were a lot of times that I'd walk out the store empty handed because nothing would fit me. But that era's over now, lost weight, I'm my old self again, maybe I'll try clothes shopping instead of polish shopping? Hmm.. Nah. So many polish, so little time! =)

5. What piece in you make-up bag is the most important to you?
My trusty lipbalm. I hate dry, chapped lips. So I always make it a point to put some whenever I feel that its dry.

6. Your favorite color?
Pink. Surprise! Surprise!

7. Favorite perfume?
Hmm, D&G Light Blue (its old, i know, I'm not  a fan of perfumes) but I'm using Bulgari Rose.

8. Your favorite movie?
Ooh! There's a lot! But something that always got stuck on my head is Now and Then.

9. What countries would you like to visit?
I'd love to go to France, Italy, Spain and Greece! It would be so lovely to travel there. I like Korea and Japan too! =)

There you have it! I had fun answering this, hope you do too! =)

SWATCH: Bobbie Weng-Weng Revisited

Good Morning everyone! As promised, I have better shots of Weng Weng to show you! So I'll get straight to it because I'm in a hurry too. =P

Photobucket

This is my most favorite of the bunch! A grayish-blue holo, 2 coats was enough but I got carried away and painted 3! Application was great, drying time was ok. Alright, that's it for me today!

SWATCH: Bobbie Margarita & Mint Daiquiri

Ok, so this is the last 2 of the 7 Bobbie holoprisms collection. I have Margarita and Mint Daiquiri.  I don't want to end the collection with this 2 polishes which is the least that I like the most. So I'm going to re-do Weng-weng since I know I didn't give justice to the pictures that I took before. I'll update that post tomorrow.

So let me show you the lesser evil of this 2.

Bobbie Margarita

A sheer pink with scattered holo, although you need to look closer to see the effect unlike with the other holos in the collection. Took me 3 coats, didn't want to add more. I'm guessing it will take me at least 5 coats to be fully opaque.

Photobucket

Bobbie Mint Daiquiri

A sheer gold holo, but of all the holos, this one has the least effect. I dont like it on my nails either, made it look like I used pure acetone on my nails... as a moisturizer. Application was ok, took me 3 coats for this. Maybe 5 coats to be opaque.

Photobucket

There you have it folks! Bobbie Holoprisms.  I find Weng-Weng, Mojito and Mudslide as the best in this collection. And as for Mint Daiquiri, its the worst of them all. But I haven't tried layering. Maybe that might turn the tables for it. How about you? What do you think about this collection? Planning to buy them all?

You might also want to read about the other Bobbie Holoprisms.
