NAIL ART: Aztec Nails

Hi there ladies! Wow! Its been a while! I miss everything here. I haven't read any of the blog posts for the past 5 months. A little too long, right? Right now, I'm so behind on any new lines from nail polish brands. I'm not worrying so much since I live far far away from Manila, far from malls and department stores. Although there's one here that carries most of the new polishes from Revlon. But that's it. Oh, and I also got the chance to go to Red Dot Boutique several times. Man, its a gold mine there! Who would have thought that a local boutique could carry so many foreign brands. I even saw that banana powder from Ben Nye. And there's also Urban Decay, NYX, Sephora.. For the polishes, they have Zoya, OPI, Wet n' Wild, Orly.. Its a wonderland out there!!! There's also brushes from Charm, which I so so so love! And that portable vanity with lights! Oh, and I love the clothes!! Sans the high pricetag. But in a province like this, its a freakin gift! I could go on and on about this nifty little store. But, I can do that in another blogpost, with photos. :)

Ok.. So I am so late with my nail thingies. I do really hope I'll get my groove back. Its been months since my nails had color painted on it. I've been seeing tribal/aztec prints like everywhere. And yes, also on nails. I got really inspired and wanted to do my own take on aztec prints. So here, PLEASE, PLEASE, forgive my poor attempt on aztec nails. Its been awhile and I was having a hard time using my nail art brushes. Its not perfect, but it'll be better on my next posts. :)

None of the prints here are the same.

I'd love to do a tutorial on how I did it, but I don't think this creation earns me the right to do it.

It looks good from afar though ;p

Are you still scrolling down???

SWATCH: Caronia Sweet Bliss Collection

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday! It's getting really really hot and humid here! 10AM and its already 32 degrees outside. I heard it'll get worse by the day. I just don't know if I can take it anymore. I've been having rashes all over because of the heat! Anyway, Since it's super sunny outside, summer colors are perfect right now. And Caronia has something for that. It's the Sweet Bliss Collection. It has 6 lovely colors that you can choose from. I'll be showing you all 6!

First Crush - a rich lilac cream that's easy to apply, no fuss, and good drying time. A one-coater! A first from Caronia since all of their colors are too sheer! One coat was enough but I did two to even it out. And I love when the real color pops out. Please don't mind the weird index fingernail shape. I accidentally chopped it off again while preparing food. Yes, I'm clumsy and careless. =P

Like it?

Well I do.

But not as much as the next one.

On the Go - an aqua green cream that's really pretty! Application was ok, brush was ok and drying time's good too.  Did two coats for this look. I personally love this color! It was the first thing that caught my eye in this collection.

And now that I think about it, it looks like Orly Viridian Vinyl, just not with the satin finish. I'll be doing a comparison for that on my next post.

Love it?

Too much pictures?

Maybe.

But not for me coz I love looking at it.

Sun Kissed - a pumpkin orange cream. Did 2 coats, formula and application was ok. I had some trouble taking pictures, with flash it looks neon. And without, it looks really different.

So this is with flash, looks really squishy and rubbery.

And this is without flash, a bright orange cream.

Don't get me wrong, I like this color too.

Its looks nice on me, I think.

Summer Fling - Coral red in color with a cream finish. A one-coater with good formula, application was ok too.

I like this color too, but not as much as the others.

Maybe I'm just not a fan of this type of color.

Baby Pink - A salmon pink cream. Needed 3 coats for this. I find it sheer and a tad streaky. I like it the least in this collection. I was hoping that it was like Barbie pink in color, really bright and vibrant. But I got very disappointed with this color. Anyway, here's the nails.

I tried liking it because it was pink.

But I just cant.

Sweet Surprise - This one's the brightest of them all!! a lemon yellow cream. You'll see tiny iridescent shimmer while applying but when its dry, it just disappears. So its a cream for me. Application was ok, a one coater, but I did two to achieve this look. Formula and drying time's good too.

It's THIS bright and I didn't even need to put a white base under it.

I thought I love On the Go, seems like I love Sweet Surprise the most!

Awesome. Just freaking awesome.

There you have it! The Caronia Sweet Bliss Collection. My final say? I love how they did their creams now, its already a one-coater, with really vibrant colors. This collection is a must have in your stash!

Oh and btw, all the swatches doesn't have a topcoat at all. Thanks for reading guys.

SWATCH: Caress Attraction

 Hi there ladies!

I've been glittery and shiny this past few posts, so now, I'd like to have a cream post! See, I like creams too, although most of my polishes are glitters, shimmers and holos. Anyway, for today I have one of my beloved creams (just because of the color, not for the horrible formula) This is Caress Attraction.

Caress Attraction - a light taupe cream in color, application was ok.

It was a little bit runny at first, manageable for me.

I love colors like this, it compliments my complexion.

Wear time? Ugh, dont ask. Just one day.

Anyway, hope you like this color too! I also had a chance to snag the whole Caronia Sweet Summer Bliss collection.

A little preview (photo credits from the website, click to visit)

That would be my next post. Thanks for reading!

NAIL ART: My complete Valentine's nail art fail.

Hi ladies!  Happy Monday! Today I went to the post office to claim a parcel from Polishology. It was a giveaway prize that has the ELF Holiday Trio. Thank you Jenny! I really love it!  I can't wait to do a swatch! It took me a week before I could claim the parcel because I always didn't make it before the post office's closing time. Thanks again Jenny!

 Anyway.

Last week I made a nail art that was supposed to be an entry for a contest. It was a massive fail. I decided not to enter any valentines nail art contest anymore. I'm just bad at it. Really bad. Or maybe I'm better off making simpler ones. Well, there's still a few days left. I might make another one which is for the contest. That is if I can come up with something beautiful.

See, I was trying to tell a story. Man its so lame! Cupid's on my thumb, struck an arrow on the heart which is on my middle finger. They kissed on the lips on my ring and fell in love more on my pinky. Just telling the story makes me want to throw up.

My boyfriend can't even pretend and tell me that it was nice.

Awful. Awful. Awful!

NAIL ART: Love is in the air

Hi everyone! How's the weekend? Mine was fun! Yesterday was pancake day for me and my boyfriend, yey! We had tons and after a while got sick of it. But thinking of it makes me want to eat pancakes again! =P

Anyway, the nail art that I'm going to show you isn't pancake related. I got my inspiration from the new Diana Camera.

I'm into lomography too and I have the exact same camera but mine has the original or regular look.

And the nails:

Sorry about the lobster hands, the color was so light and I had a hard time capturing its real color.

This looks better in real life.

It's very simple, it looks really light in the picture but in real life its not. The colors used were just right.

Base: Caress Cool Blue
Clouds: Konad Special Polish
Freehand Hearts- Caronia Simply Red

I think I'm too early for Valentine's. That's it for me today!

NAIL ART: Meowy Christmas

Hi guys.. Sad morning.. I cant make my external hard drive work.. kept on telling me to format disk for me to use it. noooooo!!! I wish there's still a way to restore all my files.. I'll just post my nails.. I wanna cry!!

My first Christmas Nail art.

For the thumb:
I used Bobbie Snow Glitz, Black 2 way nail art pen, White 2 way nail art pen
Index:
Elianto Racing Green for base, China Glaze 2030 for the cat
Middle:
Etude House PP007 for base, white 2 way nail art pen for the cat
Ring:
Etude House RD010 for the base, Elianto Indigo Shine for the cat
Pinky:
Etude House PK005 for the base, Caronia Claret for the cat

At first I only thought of a cat for the design (because I love cats) but then since its December I included some snow in it and glittery colors.

Now let me get back to my wailing and grieving.
