NAIL ART: Pink Over Violet

HI guys! A week ago I planned on entering the "FNA Weekly Challenge". It's a gallery composed of themed nail designs. The theme for the week was water marbling. I did water marbling design a few weeks ago here. I was very lucky to be included in the gallery. Thanks so much Thriszha and Mae! =) Please do check out the other designs which are incredibly beautiful! Btw, the gallery can be seen here.

Today I did a design which has flowers and dots. I know it is very common but I need to have a "tamed down" nail design from time to time because of work. Ya know what I mean.

I used Wet n Wild Night Prowl for the base, for the diagonal tips I used Etude House PP007, for the flowers and dots i used Konad Special Pink polish and for the leaves I used China Glaze 2030.

May your week be happy! I sure hope mine's gonna be good too.

SWATCH: OPI You dont know Jacques Suede

Hi everyone! I just came back from Tagaytay City. My boyfriend and I had an amazing lunch at Sonya's Garden
It's our second time there and we cant get enough of the place! Were even planning to have our wedding there.

A little preview of the place:

I still want to go back there. The place is quiet, food is good, even the b&b is awesome! Unfortunately the place was fully booked so we never had the chance to take a peek at the rooms.

Food is available on set menus, Php 610.00 per head.

So on with the nails. Because of that getaway, I wasn't able to do a mani. I used fake nails instead.
Please, no laughing at my nails. Its the first time that I'll be doing this. =P

I did a swatch of OPI You Don't Know Jacques Suede. It was amazing! Formula was a bit on the thick side, but WTH. What do you expect from matte polishes? This color is a bit old but I really wanted to have it because of it's awesomeness which I think I just ruined because of my fake nails. I'm not myself this week, I kept on doing crappy manis.

Does it look like fake nails?

SWATCH: Orly Space Cadet

Happy Thanksgiving!! I just wish that its also celebrated here in the Philippines especially Black Friday. =) haha!
Anyway.

I finally had the chance to do a swatch of Orly Space Cadet.

Something I noticed about this color, if there's no sun, the color's foil-like

But under direct sunlight, its duochrome and you can see a hint of green, gold and pink

And I cant get enough of it.

Of course the blurry shot. =)

It really looks like petroleum, the color is very interesting and I got a lot of compliments because of this.

Of course I got bored after 24 hours, so I did a Konadicure

I think I just ruined it. Dammit.

RANDOM: Models own: Gold Rush

Hi! Great monday to you! =) Mine was very busy, and I'd really love to change my mani if only I had time to do that.. Well maybe tomorrow when everything's not so crazy anymore. I was reading through my facebook newsfeed when I stumbled upon the Models own status post. They are introducing THE Most expensive nail polish in the world! And the price?  £83,000. Holy crap! That's P5,727,000 here in the Philippines!!  Not that I don't like it, but geez, that's too much! And is it extraordinary? No. Sure it has diamonds and all those expensive stuff. But its one common color.

Here's the rest of the article.

The Most Expensive Nail Polish In The World – Ever!

Let us introduce you to Gold Rush – the most extraordinary polish!
When painted on it looks like gold leaf – it glistens, glimmers and actually sparkles like tiny diamonds (yet is absolutely smooth to the touch).
Models Own – Gold Rush
This exclusive bottle, currently available to view and order from Frost of London, has an exquisite lid which has been carefully hand-crafted from yellow gold and has a total of 1,118 diamonds inlaid. It costs a whopping £83,000 – an ideal gift for the woman who has everything! If your budget doesn’t quite stretch that far –  fear not! We are also releasing a ready to wear version (£5) online and in Boots.
Gold Rush couture is available to view and order from today at Frost of London (108 New Bond Street, London, W1). Gold Rush ready to wear will be available at www.modelsownit.com from mid December and at Boots from 23rd February 2011.

SWATCH: China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald

Hi everyone! Finally, the week is over! Everything was so exhausting. I need a break, a vacation.. Fortunately, our office's Christmas party will be early. December 15! Yey! And that's about a month from now! After that, no more work til January!! Means more time for swatches!

Anyway.

Today I did a swatch of China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald.

See how pretty it is?

It's a dark green frost with metallic shimmer. Not really emerald-y though.
Sorry for the kitty hair strand =p

Natural light:

Artificial light, with flash:

But since I just bought a new image plate (Konad m65), I tried it out with China Glaze 2030. Stamping was a bitch. It won't stick to my finger err nail! So there's my imperfect stamp. Im not really happy about it. I might change it tomorrow.I got China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald and 2030 from My Digital Traincase.

I also have something from Caronia and Elianto

(L-R) Caronia Godess, Caronia Dare, Elianto Grape Wine

Caronia Godess: Its a green duochrome with gold shimmer

Caronia Dare: A rich blue-green shimmer

Elianto Grape Wine: A bloody red jelly

I cant wait to do a swatch with these guys =)  Happy Weekend!

RANDOM: Birthday goodies!!

The past week was my birthday week. Now to celebrate that, me and my boyfriend went to the Karl Edwards Bazaar in the NBC Tent in The Fort. We went there because of one thing. Nail Polish shopping!! My Digital Traincase was there! I couldn't sleep the night before because 1) Again, Polish shopping!!  And 2) Im gonna get Space Cadet! Its bad enough that Orly's kind of expensive here in the Philippines, but for the Cosmic FX collection not to be EVER available here, well that's too much. That's why as soon as the word was out that MDT's gonna join the bazaar, I immediately told my boyfriend that we'll be going there on Saturday. And that's in the morning. And yes, I was her first customer. Haha! Anyway. Here's Orly Space Cadet and the whole bunch of bottles that I got.

top: L-R : Etude House PP007, China Glaze Matte Magic, China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald, Chinaglaze 2030
bottom: L-R: OPI Here today... Aragon tomorrow, OPI You dont know Jacques suede, Orly Space Cadet, Orly Viridian Vinyl, Orly Purple Pleather, Orly It's up to blue

I got all of this from My Digital Traincase

Bought this from PCX in Alabang Town Center

From Etude House, Megamall

I'd like to do a swatch on all the colors but mine's still occupied with growling nails. I'll try out first Orly Space Cadet! Anxiety's getting through me. Anyway, my boyfriend's gonna be back there later to buy something he pondered for all day yesterday. Maybe I can ask him to buy me just one more bottle. =p

NAIL ART: Growling over Elianto Burnt Umber

Hi! How was your week? Mine was tiresome but its ok, its my birthday week! Early this week I bought 2 new colors from The Faceshop, BK901 and SL211. Then I saw this cool shade from Elianto, Burnt Umber. And lastly I got my first bottle of Wet n' Wild Wild Shine Night Prowl. It reminds me of China Glaze Mummy may I, though Ive only seen it in pictures.

The letters from the name got a bit smudged because my fingers were all covered up with Lemony Flutter while I was removing the tag price and when I took the shot.

I did a swatch over Elianto Burnt Umber. I was a bit disappointed because when the polish dried on my nails, it looked plain. boring. Even the glitters dont shine that much. In the bottle its like copper with red jelly undertone and gold glitters. But on the nails, it wasn't what I was expecting.

Natural Light

So I can cover up my frustration, I jazzed it up a little bit. I used Konad m57 and Konad Special Black Polish. Both pictures were taken with flash.

This one's taken under direct sunlight:

Grrroowwll!!!

By the way, Im going to the Karl Edwards Bazaar in the NBC tent in The Fort to buy more loot! My Digital Traincase will be there!

That's it for me, Goodnight.

NAIL ART: On the Dot!

Hi! What a lazy Sunday morning. Its 11am and I'm still sitting on my bed while browsing. Great. =) I'd like to spend my Sundays lying lazily on the couch and watch TV all day long. Anyway.

A few weeks ago, I got the chance to take home, OPI Tease-y does it from the Burlesque Collection.
Here's my swatch.

 With flash

Indoors: Natural Light

OPI Tease-y does it is a plum based vampy polish with red shimmer.  Pretty.

I wore this for a few hours but then I got bored. So, I did this:

With a little help from my dotting tool, I made it more fun! I used silver and pink 2 way nail art pens and Orly Top 2 Bottom for topcoat.

EmeraldSparkled is hosting a giveaway for her 1000 followers and her blog's birthday! China Glaze Holiday Collection, Nox Twilight Polishes and Konad Image plates are the prizes!  I'm so joining this one. I got my eye on Nox Twilight Polishes!

So there, Now its time for brunch. Happy Sunday!

NAIL ART: My first water marbling design

Ive always wanted to try marbling on my fingers. Before, I just use a fake nail and I always end up frustrated, with a disastrous fake nail. Until I did a perfect nail. That made my decision. I'll be wearing marbled nails for this week!

I used Orly Rock Candy as base and for the marbles, China Glaze Unplugged and Pure Elegance

And Yes. It will take most of your patience and your polish =P

Now for a closer look:

It's important to choose before hand the polish that you want to marble with. Some are hard to use with water. I'd like to try it again next time! =) Not too bad for my first time. =)

Goodnight.

SWATCH : Bobbie: Glitter Collection

Right now I want to show you something that's local here in the Philippines. Its Bobbie Nail Polish. It comes in 10ml bottles and its really cheap! Only Php33.00 each. Back in college, when I was just starting out collecting polishes, Bobbie satisfied my cravings. It was easy to find, almost all the drugstores and supermarkets carry this brand and its cheap. I didn't spend this much on nail polish before because 1. I was a student. (Meaning no budget! Haha! And since I live in a dorm that time, every peso was important!) 2. I was a nursing student. (I cant even grow my nails since our clinical instructors never failed to check them!). So there. Those were my reasons.

So on with Bobbie. They have nice colors too if you'll just take the time to look! I swatched 3 colors from their glitter collection. It's Snow Glitz, Chestnut and Sparklers.

First swatch: Bobbie Snow Glitz

 Indoors: Natural Light

  Indoors: Natural Light

 With Flash

Bobbie Snow Glitz - Its a silver foil and only 2 coats are needed to be opaque.

Second Swatch: Chestnut

 Indoors: Natural Light

With Flash

Bobbie Chestnut: Its a sheer gold foil. Needs 3 coats to be opaque.

Third Swatch: Bobbie Sparklers

 With Flash

Indoors: Natural Light

Bobbie Sparklers: Its a Glittery Jelly that's leaning towards bronze.

Overall, these are nice colors but the most striking is Snow Glitz. For me, Chestnut is just too sheer for foils and with Sparklers, I just don't like how dark it is for a gold color.

That's it for me today.
